Twenty-nine (58%) of the operated cases had a favorable outcome with a mean follow-up of 32 weeks. We had a 20% operative mortality and 29% total management mortality. Forty-four percent presented with poor WFNS grades of 4 and 5. Eighty percent of our patients were operated within 48 h of presentation. There were 66 cases of subarachnoid hemorrhage or intracranial aneurysm presenting to this hospital over the study period. Sarawak General hospital upgrades had been an outstanding issue for years, and the completion of a multistory carpark, and the Serapi Verdure Hotel, which also has a multistory carpark, will hopefully solve the problem in the future.This is a prospective study conducted from February 2000 to July 2002 in a single neurosurgeon neurosurgical service in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. Work has since progressed well with AWSB announcing that both projects would soon be completed hence further increase parking slots available for patients and staff of this hospital which is the biggest hospital in Sarawak. WEIDA will then also provide asset management services to the new buildings and facilities upon completion, as well as operate the medi-hotel and car park.
The Edge then reports that the project involves building a daycare centre, a medi-hotel with a multi-storey car park and a multi-storey car park complex for the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching. The construction of all the physical upgrades in the hospital was supposed to start in July 2014, but eventually only started when the WEIDA Group was awarded the contract worth RM351 millions in April 2017.
On another note, construction works on a medi-hotel, seen above to be known as Serapi Verdure Hotel, and a multistory carpark in for the hospital is now close to completion. The roads in mention can be seen in the map below, with the company also adding that traffic wardens will be on duty to guide traffic during the initial period.
